Every panel hail hits

Roof The largest surface and the most exposed. Dents here create stress points and, left alone, can lead to water leaks.

Hood Double-wall construction traps dents, and temperature swings make the metal expand and contract, worsening the damage.

Aluminum doors and hood, steel everywhere else

Since the JL generation, Wrangler doors and hood are aluminum, worked with the slower, heat-controlled technique described on our aluminum and EV page. The tub, fenders and rear body are steel and repair the standard way.

If the top was off during the storm

A lot of Wranglers run without a hardtop in the summer, which is exactly when hail season peaks. If the top was off, the damage is often to the interior and seats rather than exterior panels — that is not a PDR repair, and we tell you plainly if that is what happened rather than quoting panel work that will not fix it.
